“I Won’t Stop Saying It, Obi Won 2023 Elections” – Baba-Ahmed
Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, the former Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has reiterated his claim that he and Peter Obi won the 2023 presidential election. Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Friday, Baba-Ahmed emphasized his unwavering stance on the election’s outcome.
He accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of manipulating the results by switching off the INEC Result Viewing portal (IRev) and resorting to manual returns. “Not at all. In fact, we hold our heads high,” Baba-Ahmed asserted, questioning the achievements of the current administration and highlighting the ongoing issues of insecurity, economic decline, and corruption.
Baba-Ahmed claimed, “The iRev was switched off. They returned the results manually. And then the Constitution was twisted, and the meaning of the English language was changed.” He maintained that the Labour Party is currently stronger than the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) was before the 2015 election.
Highlighting the nation’s challenges, Baba-Ahmed suggested that the failures of the current government might lead to a drastic restructuring of Nigeria. “Add that to when Nigerians will now wake up to the realization that beyond 2027, there’s probably a grand scheme to dismember Nigeria into six autonomous zones because there’s no way to explain the failure, and because the only way is to carry those failures and run away,” he concluded.
