“I Will Give Away Virtually All My Wealth in 20 Years” – Bill Gates
American billionaire Bill Gates has announced that he will donate nearly his entire fortune over the next two decades. In a statement published on his blog, GatesNotes, Gates said the philanthropic initiative will be carried out through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which will then be permanently closed.
“I will give away virtually all my wealth through the Gates Foundation over the next 20 years to the cause of saving and improving lives around the world,” Gates wrote.
The Microsoft co-founder, whose net worth is estimated at $113 billion by Forbes, added that the foundation will shut its doors on December 31, 2045.
