I Want Peace – Patience Jonathan Rejects Return to Presidential Villa

Former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has ruled out any possibility of returning to the Presidential Villa, dismissing ongoing speculations surrounding her husband, former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Speaking in an interview cited by The Guardian, Mrs Jonathan said she has no interest in returning to power circles, stressing that her priority is peace of mind.

“The distress of Nigeria is so much that if God manages to bring you out of it, you should glorify Him. Why do you want to go back there? I need peace. My peace is enough,” she declared.

Her remarks come amid growing calls for former President Goodluck Jonathan to join the 2027 presidential race. However, the former leader has not made any public declaration regarding his political future.

In a related development, presidential aide Bayo Onanuga recently cautioned Jonathan against yielding to pressure from political supporters, reminding him of his 2015 defeat at the polls.

While speculations continue over a possible candidacy under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jonathan’s camp remains silent, leaving the public and political observers guessing about his next move.
