“I Only Had S£x with Him, I Didn’t Use Him for Rituals” – Lagos Hotelier Arrested for Sødømizing 16-Year-Old Boy
Macdonald, the Managing Director and CEO of Leuven Empire Hotel and Suites in Ejigbo, Lagos, has been arrested by the Zone 2 Police Command for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old secondary school boy. The suspect admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the teenager but denied using him for rituals.
According to the victim’s father, Edozie Christian, a spare parts dealer at Ladipo Market, the suspect lured his son and four other teenagers to his hotel, where he allegedly assaulted them. He reportedly threatened them with death if they revealed what happened. The boy later confided in his mother, leading to a police report and subsequent arrest.
In a video shared by TVC News, Macdonald insisted he had not used the boy for rituals but admitted to having sex with him twice. He swore on his life, his late parents, and his children that he had not engaged in any ritualistic practices.
The Zone 2 Police Command paraded the suspect at its headquarters in Onikan, Lagos. Zonal Public Relations Officer CSP Umma Ayuba confirmed that a petition was submitted on January 23 to Assistant Inspector General of Police Adegoke Fayoade, detailing the allegations against Macdonald. The petition prompted a discreet investigation led by CSP Bangajiya Uba.
Ayuba stated that the victim, initially fearful due to threats from the suspect, eventually opened up about the assault. He recounted how Macdonald took him from the hotel to his residence at No. 4B, Oshoba Street, Akowonjo-Egbeda, Lagos, where he was forced into sexual acts. After the incident, the suspect allegedly gave him a bottle of Lucozade Boost and N5,000.
Following these revelations, the victim’s parents reported the case to the Isheri-Osun Police Division. However, the suspect allegedly refused to cooperate with the police and attempted to manipulate the investigation. Frustrated with the lack of progress, the victim’s father escalated the case to the Zone 2 Command, where Macdonald was finally apprehended.
A medical examination at Mirabel Medical Centre confirmed the allegations, while a key witness—a close friend of the victim who was present at the hotel—provided further evidence. The witness confirmed that Macdonald had been engaging in unlawful acts with the victim and had attempted to assault him as well, which he resisted. Additionally, he presented recorded phone conversations, chat histories, and a video secretly filmed by the victim at the suspect’s residence.
Initially, Macdonald denied knowing the victim, but when confronted with the evidence, he admitted to taking the boy to his residence. The suspect allegedly threatened the victim with psychological harm if he spoke out. Since revealing the abuse, the victim has reportedly shown signs of mental distress.
The police investigation also exposed misconduct by the initial investigating officer, who allegedly tampered with the case file by removing a crucial witness statement before transferring it to the Zone 2 Command. The officer has since been detained and is facing disciplinary action.
Contrary to certain media reports, the police have confirmed that the medical examination results from Mirabel Medical Centre remain authentic and have not been altered. The victim is currently undergoing medical and psychological treatment.
Macdonald is also accused of luring five other teenagers to his hotel, where he allegedly subjected them to similar abuse. He reportedly intimidated them, threatening them with death if they exposed him.
Assistant Inspector General Fayoade has urged parents and guardians to be vigilant and proactive in protecting their children. He emphasized the importance of reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities. The police have assured that once investigations are complete, the suspect will face formal charges in court.
