“I Haven’t Resigned” – Rivers Deputy Governor Odu Dismisses Rumors
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Odu, has denied reports that she has resigned from her position.
A viral video circulating on social media had claimed that Odu stepped down due to intense political pressure. However, in a statement released on Wednesday by her press secretary, Owupele Benebo, she refuted the claims, reaffirming her commitment to her role.
The statement described the resignation rumors as false and misleading, emphasizing that Odu remains dedicated to serving alongside Governor Siminalayi Fubara. It highlighted her contributions as a public servant and academic, underscoring her continued support for the administration’s efforts to deliver governance to the people of Rivers State.
Benebo urged the public to disregard the reports, calling them “malicious speculation.”
