“I Have No Plans to Contest Against Tinubu” – APC Chairman Ganduje Denounces 2027 Campaign Posters as Fake News

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has vehemently denied any intention to contest against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. This denial comes in response to campaign posters circulating on social media, which suggest that Ganduje plans to run for president with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma as his vice-presidential candidate.

In a statement released on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje dismissed the posters as a malicious fabrication, orchestrated by mischief-makers. He emphasized that these false claims are likely the work of individuals aiming to sow discord within the ruling party.

“This is to inform the general public that the poster currently circulating on social media, claiming that the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is contesting for the presidency in 2027 with Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as his running mate, is entirely false and a malicious piece of fake news,” the statement reads.

The APC further suggested that the false rumors may be linked to certain elements within the Kwankwassiyya movement, seeking to create friction between Ganduje and President Tinubu.

Ganduje reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu, stating his full commitment to supporting the President’s vision and leadership. He urged the public to disregard the fabricated story and avoid spreading unverified information.

The APC chairman reiterated his belief that President Tinubu is on the right path to leading Nigeria towards greater prosperity and unity.
