“I Cannot Apologise for What I Did Not Do” — Pastor Chris Okafor Withdraws Apology to Doris Ogala and Other Women
Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, has formally withdrawn his earlier apology to actress Doris Ogala and other women he had previously said he “wronged in the past.”
The controversy dates back to December 2025, shortly before Okafor’s marriage, when Ogala publicly accused him of mistreatment. Additional allegations from other women followed. At the end of 2025, Okafor issued an apology and temporarily stepped down from his church duties.
He returned to the pulpit weeks later, receiving a warm welcome from his congregation. In a recent church service, Okafor clarified that his previous apology was made under pressure and has since been rescinded.
Okafor explained that religious leaders, including Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo and Bishop David Abioye, were being unfairly implicated, which influenced his initial apology.
He stated, “The reason I apologised before was to protect the fathers of faith whose names were being dragged. But let me be clear: I cannot apologise for actions I did not commit or for people I have never met. That apology is withdrawn completely.”
Okafor added that the matter is currently before the courts and emphasized that he cannot issue apologies for claims under legal review. He said, “My evidence has been presented in court. Whoever claims otherwise should bring their evidence to the court. Nothing beyond that will be addressed publicly.”
The pastor concluded by urging followers to await the court’s outcome, saying, “When the court decides, we will know what is true and who is lying.”
