Hundreds Of Protesters Threaten To Trek To Bauchi Over Monarch’s Arrest
Hundreds of protesters in Tafawa Balewa have threatened to embark on a trek from Tafawa Balewa to Bauchi the state capital, in a solidarity protest for their monarch who was alleged to have been arrested by the police in Bauchi, over a communal clash in Sang community in Bogoro Local Government Area.
This time around it is no longer the youths and women, even the elderly have joined the peaceful demonstration and vowed not to end the protest until their monarch is released.
A source in the area said the protest ceased yesterday, allowing for free movement of vehicles, but they said if the Police fail to release their monarch, they will go ahead with moving the protest to the Bauchi state capital.
This is the fifth day of the protest since the arrest of the monarch by the police in Bauchi because of an alleged Sang communal clash.
