How Tinubu’s Government Convinced Me to Join APC – Fmr LP Guber Candidate

Former Bayelsa Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Udengs Eradiri, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing President Bola Tinubu’s developmental strides in the Niger Delta as his motivation.

Speaking on Tuesday in Yenagoa after registering as an APC member in Ward 10, Constituency 2, Yenagoa Local Government Area, Eradiri credited Tinubu’s administration for key projects in his Agudama/Ekpetiama community, including potable water, shore protection, solar lighting, and a one-kilometer road, all executed through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

“The APC government has provided my community with essential projects. They have also promised to renovate our secondary school and build a corps members’ lodge. The best way to show appreciation is to join and work for the success of the party,” he said.

Eradiri commended the Tinubu-led government’s interventions across the Niger Delta, including the Operation Light-Up Niger Delta project and security initiatives through Tantita Security Services. He also highlighted Tinubu’s recent signing of the Maritime University, Okerenkoko Bill and the establishment of the University of Technology and Environment in Ogoniland as evidence of the administration’s commitment to regional development.

“The Tinubu government has given Bayelsa key appointments, including the Head of Service, Minister of Petroleum, and NDDC Managing Director. Under Minister Heineken Lokpobiri, there has been a consistent increase in oil production, and the East-West Road has received better attention than in past administrations,” he added.

Eradiri emphasized that he has long admired Tinubu’s leadership, recalling their shared participation in the 2006 PRONACO meetings, where Tinubu championed a restructured Nigeria. He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s policies, particularly tax reforms, which he believes will drive economic growth, innovation, and job creation.

“I see that this government has a lot to offer Nigeria, and I won’t be an onlooker. I want to participate and contribute. I want to be part of those working to revive and reorganize the country,” he stated.

He thanked APC members in Bayelsa for welcoming him into the party and pledged to work with party stakeholders to strengthen the APC both in the state and nationally.
