“How I Converted a Muslim Policeman Who Came to Arrest Me” – Pastor Chris
Founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, Pastor Chris Okafor, has shared a remarkable account of a police officer who came to arrest him but ended up embracing Christianity.
In an interview with Vanguard, Okafor said that in the early days of his ministry, opposition from neighbours often led to repeated attempts to shut down the church.
“At the time, many people were unhappy with what God was doing in our ministry. There were occasions when the police were called, claiming we were disturbing them,” he explained.
One incident, he said, was particularly striking. A Muslim police officer reportedly forced his way into the church during a service.
“He came in and said, ‘Pastor, you are under arrest,’” Okafor recalled. “I told him, ‘Before you arrest me, God has a word for you.’”
Okafor said he then revealed private details about the officer’s family, including that his wife had been planning a fibroid surgery after nine years of marriage without children. The officer was reportedly shocked.
“He later asked, ‘Who are you? How did you know this?’” Okafor said. He added that he prayed with the officer, who accepted the invitation to give his life to Jesus, ultimately abandoning the arrest.
“The officer later returned with his wife. After prayers, she became pregnant, and they both joined the ministry,” Okafor said.
Reflecting on the growth of his church, Okafor noted that it began on a single plot of land but has expanded significantly over the years.
“Our ministry grew gradually. God helped us expand until we acquired most of the property on this street. Today, we own about 90% of it,” he said.
