How Delta Speaker Survived Warri Boat Mishap That Claimed Five Lives

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, has detailed how he survived a tragic boat mishap that claimed five lives along the Bennett Island River in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State. The incident, which occurred on Friday, also left several others injured.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, Guwor revealed that he was traveling to Asaba through Warri after a constituency engagement when the boat he was in narrowly avoided a head-on collision with another vessel. The mishap tragically resulted in the loss of lives and injuries to other passengers.

The Speaker expressed deep sorrow over the incident, offering his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and praying for their strength during this period of grief. He also prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.

Guwor, still in shock over the incident, thanked God for sparing his life and those of other survivors. He commended the swift response of the rescue teams and medical personnel who worked to provide assistance in the aftermath of the tragedy.
