Hilda Baci Set to Cook World’s Largest Pot of Jollof Rice Next Month
Celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci is preparing to attempt another historic culinary milestone with the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
The event, scheduled for September 12, 2025, will take place at Muri Okunola Park in Lagos during the Gino World Jollof Festival. The festival is expected to draw thousands of food lovers and culture enthusiasts, offering a mix of West African cuisine, music, and entertainment.
As part of preparations, Baci recently tested a massive custom-built pot measuring six metres in width and six metres in height, which has already generated buzz on social media. Sharing her excitement online, she wrote: “Six metres wide. Six metres tall. On September 12, we make history together. Because what is jollof without you to share it with?”
The festival will be free and open to the public, with live performances set to complement the culinary showcase.
Hilda Baci rose to international fame in 2023 after breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon. With this upcoming attempt, she aims not only to set a new record but also to spotlight the cultural significance of jollof rice as a dish that unites West Africans across borders.
