Gunmen Kill Vigilante, Assault Two Girls in Abuja Community
A night of terror unfolded in Kpaduma 3, a community near Asokoro Extension, on Monday, September 15, 2025, when suspected kidnappers invaded the neighborhood, killing a local vigilante and assaulting two girls.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers, reportedly from the nearby village of Kobi, stormed the community at night, attacking homes and engaging in gunfire with local vigilantes. The attack, which lasted several hours, included gunshots and an explosion described as “grenade-like,” causing fear among residents and commuters.
One of the vigilantes, identified as Bako, was shot dead during the confrontation. Eyewitnesses also reported that two girls were sexually assaulted in the incident. Several other residents sustained injuries during the attack.
Residents expressed frustration over security concerns, noting that they had previously requested the landlord of one targeted house to improve security measures, but their requests were not implemented.
Police reportedly arrived later, restoring calm to the community after deploying officers to the area. Authorities are yet to release an official statement regarding arrests or ongoing investigations.
