Tragedy struck in the Ajiran community as Demola Akinloye, son of Tijani Akinloye, the Ojomu of Ajiran land, was brutally murdered by gunmen around the Chevron Drive area of Lekki, Lagos.
The incident occurred when Demola, aged 50, was ambushed by four armed assailants while driving his black Toyota Corolla near the Bourdillon Court estate gate. The attackers, who were reportedly in a white minibus, shot and stabbed him to death.
According to a statement released on Monday by Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos Police Command spokesperson, the body of the deceased has been transferred to a morgue in Ajah for preservation and autopsy.
“A man later identified as Demola Akinloye was attacked along Chevron Drive, Lekki, by four armed men driving in a white minibus,” Hundeyin stated. “The attackers shot and stabbed him to death. The scene has been examined, and one expended cartridge was recovered. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.”
The Ajiran community, located in the Agungi area of Eti-Osa Local Government Area, is in mourning as they await justice for the son of their traditional leader.
