Gunmen Kidnap Former Taraba Senator
The Taraba Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of a former Senator, Zik Sunday by gunmen.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sunday represented Taraba North Senatorial District from 2003 to 2007.
DSP David Misal, the Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO) confirmed the incident on Monday in Jalingo while briefing newsmen.
Misal said that the Senator was kidnapped from his home in Karim Lamido, and efforts were on to rescue him.
The spokesman disclosed that another set of kidnappers had abducted a police Corporal, Mustapha Badamasi, who is also the Chief Imam of the command’s mosque.
He said that Badamasi was kidnapped from his house at Sabongari, a suburb of Jalingo, the state capital.
Misal assured families of the victims that command was doing everything possible to rescue the two victims and apprehend the abductors. NAN
