The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed that six members of a Celestial Church along the Uso/Owo Expressway in Owo Local Government Area were abducted in the early hours of February 25.
DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the state police spokesperson, said the attack occurred around 12:50 a.m., with the victims taken to an unknown location by the assailants.
Security forces, including the police, the Nigerian Army, and local vigilante groups, launched coordinated rescue operations. One victim has been successfully recovered, while a suspected informant believed to have aided the kidnappers has been arrested and is assisting with investigations.
