Governor Yusuf Urges EFCC to Release Forensic Report on “Gandollar” Video
In a swift response to former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s allegations of failure against his administration, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has vehemently defended his government while urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to make public the forensic report on the infamous “Gandollar” saga.
Governor Yusuf, through his spokesperson Sanusi Tofa, criticized Ganduje’s eight-year tenure for its alleged maladministration, corruption, and misappropriation of public funds. He accused Ganduje of attempting to divert attention from his own alleged misdeeds by falsely accusing the present administration of failure.
Addressing the media on Sunday, Governor Yusuf emphasized his commitment to uncovering the truth behind the dollar video scandal and vowed to ensure accountability and justice prevail.
Furthermore, Governor Yusuf urged Ganduje to focus on defending himself in court rather than engaging in media campaigns to salvage his tainted reputation. He reiterated his administration’s determination to prosecute anyone found guilty of corruption, emphasizing that the rule of law will be upheld.
Responding to allegations of poor governance and financial mismanagement, Governor Yusuf revealed the daunting task of recovering from the state’s alleged bankruptcy inherited from Ganduje’s administration. He claimed that his government inherited liabilities and debts totaling over N300 billion, accusing the previous APC government of selling off state assets to cronies and family members.
In conclusion, Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing socio-economic and infrastructure development for the betterment of Kano and its people. He called on Ganduje to account for his actions and urged the EFCC to expedite the release of the forensic report to ensure transparency and accountability in governance.
