Gov Yusuf: “The Moment Ganduje Raised His Hand, He Lost Re-election” — Kwankwaso
The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has said Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf will not secure re-election in 2027.
Kwankwaso made the statement in an interview with BBC Hausa while reacting to Governor Yusuf’s defection from the NNPP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the former Kano State governor, Yusuf’s political prospects ended the moment former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, publicly endorsed him.
Kwankwaso described the governor’s decision to leave the NNPP as a betrayal and warned that it would have lasting political consequences.
“We never expected this kind of betrayal from Governor Abba. He will regret his decision,” Kwankwaso said.
He added, “The moment Ganduje raised his hand, the election was already lost. Let him first claim that we did not allow him to govern; we will respond to that.”
