GOAT: Ronaldo Makes History with 900th Goal, Real Madrid Applauds Their Greatest Star

Real Madrid has paid tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese forward achieved an extraordinary milestone of 900 career goals for both club and country.

Ronaldo, who spent the prime of his career at Real Madrid, reached the landmark during Portugal’s UEFA Nations League opener against Croatia in Lisbon on Thursday. The 39-year-old ended a five-game goal drought for his national team by scoring in the 25th minute, shortly after Diogo Dalot opened the scoring in the seventh minute.

This goal etched Ronaldo’s name in the history books, making him the first footballer to score 900 career goals. The achievement comes after a glittering career that saw him play for clubs including Sporting CP, Manchester United, Juventus, and most famously, Real Madrid, where he spent a successful nine-year period between 2009 and 2018.

Real Madrid, quick to recognize their former star, took to social media to celebrate the historic moment. In a tweet, the club praised Ronaldo as one of the “greatest legends” in football, saying, “Another historic milestone: 900 goals in the professional career of one of the greatest legends of Real Madrid and world football. Congratulations, dear and admired @Cristiano! Real Madrid and the Madrid fans are always proud of you.”

Ronaldo’s legendary status at Real Madrid was cemented during his time at the Santiago Bernabéu, where he scored 450 goals in 438 appearances, helping the club secure four Champions League titles and numerous domestic honors.
