Portugal is set to unveil a new currency in tribute to its greatest football icon, Cristiano Ronaldo. The “Euro 7” coin, named after Ronaldo’s legendary jersey number, will commemorate the footballer’s outstanding achievements and contributions to the sport.

The 39-year-old has scored over 130 goals for Portugal, leading his country to several historic victories, including their first major title at Euro 2016 and the UEFA Nations League trophy in 2019.

In a recent UEFA Nations League fixture, Ronaldo marked another career milestone by scoring his 900th goal with a stunning “super kick” against Scotland.

The special edition coin will feature an image of Ronaldo, along with his iconic “CR7” branding. It will be accepted as legal tender across Portugal, making it both a collector’s item and a functional currency.
