Goal King Ronaldo Finishes 2023 as World’s Leading Goal Scorer
In a spectacular display of goal-scoring prowess, Cristiano Ronaldo, the star striker for Al Nassr, has secured the coveted title of the world’s top goal scorer for the year 2023.
Ronaldo clinched this achievement by netting his 54th goal during Al Nassr’s commanding 4-1 victory over Al Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday. Impressively, these 54 goals were amassed across 59 fixtures for both club and country.
Surpassing formidable competitors, Ronaldo’s goal tally for the calendar year surpasses the likes of Harry Kane from Bayern Munich and Kylian Mbappé from Paris Saint-Germain, both with 52 goals, as well as Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, who notched 50 goals. Notably, none of these leading contenders will have the opportunity to add to their goal tally in the remaining days of 2023.
This marks the fifth time that Ronaldo has concluded a year as the world’s top goal scorer. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner previously achieved this feat in 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015 during his tenure at Real Madrid.
Reflecting on this remarkable accomplishment, Ronaldo expressed his gratitude on social media, stating, “54 – I’ll say when it’s finished! Thanks, team,” underscoring the collaborative effort that contributed to his outstanding achievement.
