Full List: Tinubu Appoints Governing Board for North West Development Commission
In a major step towards advancing regional development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed the inaugural Governing Board for the North West Development Commission (NWDC), following the signing of the NWDC Bill into law on July 24, 2024.
The president has submitted the names of the nominated board members to the Senate for confirmation. The NWDC, designed to drive growth, economic empowerment, and social development across the North West region, is seen as a key initiative in Tinubu’s administration.

Chairman: Haruna Ginsau (Jigawa)
MD/CEO: Abdullahi Shehu Ma’aji (Kano)
Board Members:
Yahaya Umar Namahe (Sokoto)
Aminu Suleiman (Kebbi)
Tijani Yahaya Kaura (Zamfara)
Abdulkadir S. Usman (Kaduna)
Muhammad Ali Wudil (Kano)
Shamsu Sule (Katsina)
Nasidi Ali (Jigawa)
The board members are expected to bring their expertise to the Commission’s mission of spurring sustainable development in the region.
