Four Armed Robbers Die in Road Crash After Snatching Car, Evading Arrest

 

Four suspected armed robbers lost their lives in a fatal road accident while attempting to evade arrest in Nasarawa State. The incident, which occurred on March 25, 2025, involved a stolen vehicle the suspects had snatched at gunpoint. One suspect survived and is currently receiving medical treatment under police watch.

 

According to a statement by the Nasarawa State Police Command spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, officers received a distress call around 3:00 a.m. reporting an armed robbery at a residential area behind the stadium in Keffi. Acting swiftly, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, directed operatives to track the fleeing suspects. Although the robbers had already escaped before the police arrived at the crime scene, officers identified their likely escape route and pursued them.

 

As the suspects attempted to flee in a stolen Toyota Camry with registration number ABC 621 CV, their vehicle crashed at Bola Junction along the Keffi-Abuja Expressway. Police operatives from Goshen City Division immediately responded and transported the five occupants to Johepz Medical Centre, Kuchikau. Four were pronounced dead by medical personnel, while the sole survivor, identified as 25-year-old Hussaini Mohammed from Uke, was arrested and remains under police watch.

 

Investigations confirmed that the stolen vehicle belonged to a resident named Udochi Emeka. A search of the suspects’ belongings led to the recovery of various items, including assorted charms, two long knives, screwdrivers, multiple wristwatches, twelve mobile phones of different brands, and an Access Bank ATM card belonging to Lydia Olabode Kemi.

 

Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order. He emphasized that security forces in will continue their crackdown on criminal activities to ensure the safety of residents. The police also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest station.
