FFK a classic case of a wasted investment, already reaching out to Atiku in case appointment did not come — Momodu

Media entrepreneur Dele Momodu has renewed his criticism of former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, describing him as someone who had already begun making political contingency plans before securing an ambassadorial appointment under President Bola Tinubu.

In a detailed post shared on X, Momodu alleged that Fani-Kayode explored alternative political connections, including reaching out—through intermediaries—to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in anticipation that an appointment from the Tinubu administration might not materialize.

Momodu, who traced his long-standing familiarity with Fani-Kayode’s family background, used strong language in assessing the former minister’s character and political conduct. He described him as “a classic case of a wasted investment,” referencing his educational background and upbringing while criticizing his public behavior.

According to him, “Femi is a classic case of a wasted investment. He attended some of the best schools pedigree and/or money could purchase,” adding that despite such opportunities, he “turned out an outright and incurable thug.”

Momodu further stated that Fani-Kayode’s temperament has remained unchanged over time, alleging that he tends to struggle outside positions of influence. “Femi without power is like fish out of water,” he wrote, suggesting that the former minister’s political relevance is closely tied to access to office.

He also claimed that discussions had taken place between both men regarding the possibility of an appointment, noting that Fani-Kayode had expressed frustration during the period of uncertainty. “For Femi, it is a fulfillment of a long expected appointment. We discussed it several times,” Momodu stated.

Beyond that, Momodu asserted that Fani-Kayode had already begun exploring alternatives before the ambassadorial role was confirmed. “He was already working on Plan B, and begging a few of us to help him reach out to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,” he said.

Momodu concluded his remarks by criticizing what he described as Fani-Kayode’s continued confrontational posture, arguing that the appointment should have marked a turning point rather than further public disputes.
