Federal Civil Service Implements Sweeping Changes: 135 Officials Redeployed Across Ministries (Full List)

A total of 135 directors, deputy directors, assistant directors, and other officials within the Federal Civil Service have undergone a major redeployment to various ministries, departments, and agencies. This reshuffling, detailed in a memo dated November 30, 2023, from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, marks a significant organizational change.

Addressed to key figures including the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, the memo (tagged “HCSD/CMO/EM/CPA/908/III/154”) outlines the approved deployment of the affected officers.

The Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office of the OHCSF, Marcus Ogunbiyi, signed the memo, emphasizing that the acceptance and documentation of the deployed officers by their respective ministries are mandatory. The Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation underscores that any rejection of officers will not be tolerated.

The handover and taking-over processes are slated for completion on or before Thursday, 7th December 2023. Furthermore, directors of Human Resources Management and Administration are directed to submit compliance details to the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office, no later than Monday, 11th December 2023.

The memo issues a stern reminder to all concerned officers that failure to adhere to this posting instruction will be met with appropriate sanctions, citing the violation of Public Service Rule 100301b and 020602 [iv].

This extensive reshuffle signals a strategic move within the Federal Civil Service, with the ripple effects expected to influence various sectors of the government.
