FCT Polls: “Pack Your Belongings and Leave,” APC Campaigner Warns Residents Planning to Vote ADC, SDP
Tension is mounting in parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) following threats issued by a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against residents who intend to vote for opposition parties in Saturday’s Area Council elections.
In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the APC campaigner was seen addressing supporters in Mabushi, a district within the Abuja Municipal Area Council. Speaking in Hausa, he warned residents backing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Social Democratic Party (nigeria political party”] (SDP) to reconsider their political choices or prepare to leave the community after casting their votes.
The speaker claimed the party had mobilised loyalists to monitor and identify opposition supporters in the area. He alleged that some residents were promoting ADC and SDP candidates while working against existing local political arrangements.
Using a Hausa idiom to signal confrontation, he said the APC would deal decisively with those it considers opponents. He added that individuals who refuse to support the party during the elections would face consequences after the polls.
In a direct warning, the campaigner said young men were ready to act against anyone perceived to have betrayed the party at the ballot. He stated that residents who vote for ADC or SDP candidates should “pack their belongings” and find their way out of the town.
