Fani-Kayode Romances APC Stalwarts Attacks Atiku, Chidoka and PDP

Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has visiting and receiving a number of APC stalwarts.

FFK paid a courtesy visit to Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello on the evening of the 7th of February. He shared a picture on his twitter handle:

It was an honor to have spent quality time with my friend& brother Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi state last night. We had a frank, candid, fruitful& productive discussion about the way forward for our country. This is a clear case of politics without bitterness& of building bridges. pic.twitter.com/BaJXr2IEbZ

The next day, he shared yet another picture with Senator Smart Adeyemi of the APC who visited him at his residence

It was an honor & pleasure to receive Senator Smart Adeyemi in my Abuja home. We had a wonderful evening & fruitful discussions about the way forward for our country. He is one of the most brilliant, insighful and incisive leaders in the country and he is certainly going places. pic.twitter.com/yUKZFms8m8

The yesterday he met with the APC caretaker chairman Mai Buni and Governor Yahaya Bello again.

Yesterday I had the honor & privilage of having a very productive & important meeting with the Nat. Chairman of the APC, Gov. Mai Buni of Yobe state & Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi state. We discussed the state of the nation, national issues, party politics & the way forward. 1/ pic.twitter.com/eQKMbHVidc

He explained the reason for the meetings stating that:

“These meetings are wide-ranging & ongoing & I am delighted to be involved in them. Despite the obvious benefits & wisdom in this noble initiative it amazes me that some people should feel that it is wrong for me to sit with other leaders in the country to discuss issues.”

“Which touch and concern the national cohesion, future and stability of our country. This is a time in which we must set all our differences aside, build bridges and come together as one lest our country drifts into fratricidal butchery and civil war.”

“It is right & proper for us to talk & to attempt to join hands across political, religious & regional lines to save Nigeria. I can & will never compromise or jettison my core fundamental principles for any reason & I stand firmly on my honestly held opinion that we need to enthrone equity, justice & fairness in this country for it to survive.

I also believe in restructuring the country & in a vigorous & effective fight against terrorism. The fact that I am in talks with leaders from a cross section of pol. parties, including the ruling party, does not in any way derogate from this & does not mean that I will ever change those views. The next few months will be critical in terms of whether or not our country will survive as one & I believe that if we want it to do so dialogue, building bridges& collaboration, even with those that you may disagree with on some issues, is vital and inevitable. That was the purpose of our meeting.

Permit me to add the following for the record. I will always stand for justice and I will never cease to oppose evil. Yet the greatest evil that we are confronted with today is the prospect of a second civil war.

Despite our differences, as leaders and statesmen, we must all sheath our swords and ensure that we never go down that path.

May God help our country and may He guide us all.”

These visits come just a few days after FFK publicly attacked PDP Presidential Candiate in 2019, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Aviation minister Osita Chidoka.

FFK had shared a picture of the two in a private jet with Sheik Gumi in 2018 and tweeted the following:

Pic. 1: Gumi with @atiku, @osita_chidoka & co. in 2019.

Pic. 2: Gumi with Fulani terrorists in 2021.

Show me your friends & I will tell you who you are. This is the man who says IPOB & OPC members are like Boko Haram & he is regarded as a moderate in the North.God help us! pic.twitter.com/awBJXO2KC3

This has made many watchers speculate about the possibility of FFK defecting back to the APC..
