Fake NYSC Infiltrator Apprehended in Nasarawa State
The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a fake National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member identified as Ogeh Bethel Chibuife. The imposter was apprehended for illicitly entering the Magaji Dan Yumusa Orientation Camp in Keffi, the state capital. This revelation comes from an official statement by the state police spokesperson, Ramhan Nansel, released on Thursday.
According to Nansel, the suspect, an extra-year student of Public Administration at Ebonyi State University, managed to infiltrate the NYSC camp designated for the 2024 Batch A, Stream 1 corps members. Her presence came to light during a routine headcount conducted at the camp.
The NYSC official reported the suspicious case to the police on Sunday, leading to the swift apprehension of the impostor by law enforcement officers. Further investigation exposed the imposter’s motive. Nansel explained, “The suspect confessed that she was supposed to have graduated in 2022 but had a lot of spillover courses. In an attempt to conceal this from her parents, she procured NYSC uniforms and other items designated for corps members from the market. She then sneaked into the camp to take pictures and send them to her parents before being caught.”
