Enugu Shock: Female Teacher Nabbed by Police for Alleged Sexual Abuse of Three-Year-Old Pupil
In a deeply disturbing incident, the Enugu State Police Command has apprehended a female teacher, along with a bus driver and attendant, over allegations of sexual abuse involving a three-year-old pupil at Tenderlink School in Trans-Ekulu, Enugu. The shocking revelation has prompted immediate action from the state government, resulting in the temporary closure of the school pending a thorough investigation.
The state commissioner, Kanayo Uzuegbu, expressed his concern and condemnation of the heinous act. In a statement released late Friday night through the command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, Commissioner Uzuegbu assured the public that the police would conduct a comprehensive investigation and ensure the prosecution of all individuals involved in the reprehensible incident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the three-year-old girl exhibited signs of sexual molestation, including physical injuries and traces of blood on her private parts. These distressing findings came to light after the school’s bus dropped her off at home on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Disturbingly, similar complaints from parents of other children attending the school have emerged, heightening the gravity of the situation.
“The act is unthinkable, and it is perplexing that the school’s authorities and teachers allowed such harm to befall the toddler they are supposed to tutor and protect from such an ungodly act,” stated Commissioner Uzuegbu in the issued statement.
The Enugu State Government, responding promptly to the severity of the situation, has taken the decisive step of shutting down Tenderlink School until the investigation into the sexual abuse cases involving female pupils is concluded. Commissioner Uzuegbu expressed appreciation for this action, emphasizing the commitment to ensuring that all individuals found culpable face the full weight of the law.
As the investigation unfolds, the community awaits justice for the innocent victim and accountability for those responsible for the abhorrent acts within the educational institution.
