Offa Poly Horror: Suspected Cultists Leave Two Students Dead in Gruesome Attack

In a horrifying incident at Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara state, suspected cultists have brutally hacked two Higher National Diploma (HND) 1 students to death. The victims have been identified as an unnamed male student, believed to be the leader of a cult group, and Miss Toyin Bamidele from the Faculty of Food Science and Technology.

Reports indicate that the male student was mercilessly macheted within the polytechnic’s premises, while Toyin Bamidele, reportedly the girlfriend of a rival cult leader, was pursued to her residence in town and met a similar gruesome fate.

The Kwara police command has swiftly deployed officers to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice. The institution’s management expressed condolences to Toyin Bamidele’s family in a statement issued by the Acting Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Folake Akinloye.

The bodies of the victims have been transferred to the General Hospital in Offa for autopsy procedures. Shockingly, the assailants targeted Toyin Bamidele while she was innocently washing her clothes at her residence in Dampson Hostel, adding another layer of horror to the incident.

Investigations reveal a possible connection to the disturbing trend of cult-related violence during “Sign Out” ceremonies in tertiary institutions. What should be a celebration of completing final examinations has unfortunately transformed into a battleground for rival cult groups.

Residents in the area, speaking on the condition of anonymity, described the chaos during the attack and the subsequent discovery of Toyin Bamidele’s lifeless body. Law enforcement, led by a senior police officer at Offa Divisional Police Office, has initiated a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend the masterminds behind the killing.

The institution’s management, led by Mrs. Folake Akinloye, has also launched a comprehensive inquiry into the tragic incident. The Offa community now grapples with the aftermath of this shocking act of violence within the walls of its educational institution.
