Enugu: Governor Peter Mbah’s Pinnacle Oil Station Set Ablaze, Police Suspect Foul Play

In the early hours of Friday, September 20, 2024, Pinnacle Oil, a fuel station owned by Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, was engulfed in flames, reportedly set ablaze by unknown arsonists.

Witnesses claimed that the perpetrators arrived at the scene in a Toyota Corolla, carrying out the attack, which resulted in a significant fire. At least four vehicles in the vicinity were damaged by the inferno.

Security operatives and the fire service quickly responded to the emergency, barricading the Agbani Road leading to the station, while working to extinguish the fire. Thankfully, no casualties were reported.

The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the incident, though they suggested that the fire may have been caused by a fuel leakage from one of the vehicles on the queue to purchase fuel.

In a statement by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, it was revealed that, “Three vehicles were affected by the fire, but normalcy has since been restored.”

The Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the incident, with the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State CID leading the probe.
