#EndBadGovernance Protesters Kick Off Demonstration at Abuja, Rivers Amid Heavy Security
In a major protest against hardship and poor governance, #EndBadGovernance demonstrators gathered at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Thursday, initiating a 10-day demonstration under stringent security measures.
Complying with a court order that restricts their activities to the stadium, protesters began assembling at the venue as early as 6 AM, united by solidarity songs. Armed security personnel were present in large numbers to maintain order and enforce the court’s restrictions.
Prominent human rights activist Omoyele Sowore confirmed the commencement of the protest in a Thursday morning post, stating, “Abuja has commenced the struggle #EndBadGovernance #RevolutionNow.”
Simultaneously, in Rivers State, protesters started converging in front of the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park. The demonstrators, waving Nigerian flags and holding banners and placards, are gearing up to voice their grievances.
