El-Rufai: Just Like PDP, Peter Obi Told Me About Mercenaries Hired to Destabilize Labour Party
Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has revealed that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, informed him about internal mercenaries hired to disrupt the party.
Speaking at the National Conference for Strengthening Democracy in Nigeria in Abuja, El-Rufai stated that Obi expressed concerns about crises within the Labour Party, similar to what has been reported in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“There are internal mercenaries in the PDP, hired and motivated to destroy the party. The Labour Party is also facing similar issues. Peter Obi himself told me, ‘I don’t know what’s happening in the party I contested with,’” El-Rufai said.
The former governor also distanced himself from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that he no longer recognizes the party due to its lack of internal meetings for the past two years. According to him, the APC has deviated from its original mission and is no longer capable of solving the problems it was created to address.
