#EdoDecides2024: We May Cancel Some Results on IReV – INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced it may cancel certain election results declared under duress, according to a statement released this morning.
National Commissioner Mohammed Haruna emphasized that the commission retains the authority to review results in light of concerns raised by various political parties claiming victory following the results’ upload to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal.
Haruna noted that the commission has successfully activated the IReV portal and uploaded results from polling units, with collation completed in most local government areas. The state-level collation is set to commence.
The commission reiterated its commitment to conducting the process in accordance with the Electoral Act 2022 and its guidelines. It highlighted that accredited party agents, observers, and media representatives must have unrestricted access to collation centers.
INEC urged security agencies to maintain their vigilance and professionalism as the election process concludes.
