Edo Tragedy: Body of Unidentified Man Discovered in SUV, Police Investigate Robbery Link

In a chilling incident that unfolded at Ikpokpan Junction, G.R.A, Benin City, a lifeless body was discovered inside a Toyota 4-Runner SUV earlier today. The victim, yet to be identified, was found seated behind the steering wheel, his pockets ransacked in what appears to be a gruesome encounter with suspected robbers.

Police authorities, particularly the Homicide Section of the Criminal Investigation Department at the State Police Command, are actively engaged in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim may have fallen prey to armed robbers who attacked and robbed him, leaving his body untouched in the vehicle.

The deceased’s phone and other valuables were reported missing, indicating a thorough ransacking of the vehicle. As of now, the investigators are faced with the challenging task of identifying the victim and reaching out to his family.

State Police Spokesman, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, provided limited details about the potential identity of the deceased, mentioning a hotel receipt bearing the name Dr. Eromon David as the sole lead. Nwabuzor stated, “Three copies of lodging receipts by the name of the University of Benin were found in the vehicle. Investigation is ongoing to establish the cause of death and other pertinent details.”
