Edo NSCDC Commandant Slumps, Dies at Event
The Commandant of the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gbenga Agun, has died after collapsing during an official event in Benin City.
Agun reportedly slumped on Thursday shortly after delivering a keynote address at a programme organised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates.
He was immediately rushed to the Military Hospital along Airport Road, Benin City, but was pronounced dead on arrival by medical personnel.
As of the time of this report, both the Edo State Command of the NSCDC and the agency’s national headquarters are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
