Edo 2024: Less Than a Week to Election, APC Reps Caucus Donates N200 Million to Governorship Candidate, Running Mate
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caucus in the House of Representatives has reaffirmed its support for Senator Monday Okpebholo and Hon. Dennis Idahosa, the party’s flagbearers for the upcoming Edo State governorship election scheduled for Saturday.
In a clear demonstration of solidarity, the APC Caucus contributed N200 million towards the campaign of Okpebholo and Idahosa. The donation, coordinated by Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the Fundraising Committee, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, underscores the commitment of the 10th House members to ensuring the APC’s success in Edo.
The Caucus, in a statement, expressed its determination to ensure victory for the party and praised the leadership qualities of both Okpebholo and Idahosa. They highlighted the duo’s track record of competence in public service, assuring that every effort would be made to secure a win in the state.
The cheque for the contribution was presented by House Leader Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, with key officials including the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, Hon. Billy Osawaru (APC, Edo), and Chief of Staff to the Speaker, Prof. Jake Dan-Azumi, in attendance.
