The Engr Adedeji Doherty led Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party, Lagos State Chapter has dissociated itself from a report making the rounds that the Lagos (PDP) has suspended Otunba Segun Adewale (aka Aeroland) from party activities.
Opera News Official an online media outfit had circulated an article with the headline “Lagos PDP suspends former chairman, Aeroland.”
The report had it that the Lagos State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party PDP had announced the suspension of the former state Chairman of the party, Otunba Segun Adewale also known as Aeroland.
It further stated that, the decision was taken based on the recommendations of the Executive and Disciplinary Committee of ward M1 in Alimosho Local Government Area of the state.
In response to the report, Engr Doherty dissociated himself and the entire Executive Committee stating that “It has come to my knowledge, that there is an article being circulated on social media as written by Opera News Official,”
“It is quite unfortunate that some persons within the party are in the habit of circumventing due process and thus making social media their first point of call for delicate issues.”
He said “The party has internal party mechanisms to resolve crisis or any form of misunderstandings within the party.”
He categorically stated that he is not aware of any such decisions and he is not in any way part of any instigations or decisions to suspend Segun Adewale.
He pointed out that reconciliatory moves have been ongoing for sometime now, regarding the little dispute of miscommunication that has been happening amongst leaders in Alimosho LGA.
He said “the party respects all its leaders and this does not leave out a leader in the calibre of Segun Adewale, who is also a zonal officer.”
He further pointed out that, it should be noted that Alimosho LGA is the largest LGA in Lagos State and as such, a very important and pivotal point for the success of the party in the state.
He once again distanced himself from the purported suspension and advised all aggrieved leaders in the LGA to sheath their swords and have a round table discussion to sort out all issues.
He stated that such clashes are not healthy for the growth of the party, stating that ” a crisis in Alimosho or any LGA, is a crisis in the entire party.”
He further advised all the leaders in the LGA, to sort out the issues within a time frame of one week, failure of which he stated that, the state executive committee might not have any other option but to constitute a committee to look into all circumstances surrounding all the issues.
He however said, “I believe that there are lots of leaders in Alimosho LGA with huge capacities and who are all capable of amicably sorting out all issues, so help them God.”
