Delta State Councillor Shot Dead by Gunmen; Police Launch Manhunt
Honourable Festus, a Councillor representing Owhase Ward in the Udu Local Government Area Legislative Council, Delta State, was fatally shot in the head by unidentified gunmen at his residence on Monday.
Sources indicate that the motive behind this brutal act is connected to cultism activities, shedding light on the precarious security situation in the region. The late Councillor’s death has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting an urgent response from law enforcement.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident on Tuesday, revealing that a thorough and discreet investigation is underway. The police have initiated a manhunt for the assailants, intensifying efforts to bring them to justice.
Edafe stated, “Yes, one Festus was shot on his head by unknown assailants. The wife informed the brother. We are seriously on their trail.”
