In an official statement released on Saturday, David Ombugadu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State for the 2023 election, reaffirmed his commitment to abide by the party’s decision amidst increasing calls for him to vie for the national chairmanship position.
Ombugadu expressed gratitude towards the party’s well-meaning members for their support and their appeals for him to take on a national role within the PDP. He noted that these requests align with the party’s constitution and reflect his strong track record of service, creativity, and innovation during his tenure in Nasarawa State.
Reflecting on his contributions during the 2019 and 2023 gubernatorial elections in Nasarawa State, Ombugadu stated that his impact continues to be recognized and valued by party members. He emphasized that while he acknowledges the calls for him to run for the national chairmanship position, he has yet to make a decision on the matter.
Ombugadu’s statements come as the PDP gears up for potential leadership changes, with his future role within the party being a subject of interest and speculation among members.
