APC Launches Digital Strategy to Reach 90 Million Ahead of Convention, Opens Call Centre
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched an expansive digital communication strategy aimed at reaching up to 90 million Nigerians at home and abroad ahead of its national convention scheduled for March 27.
The initiative, unveiled in Abuja on Tuesday, includes the rollout of a dedicated call centre and a coordinated digital media campaign designed to amplify party messaging before and after the convention.
Chairman of the APC National Convention Sub-committee on Digital and New Media and Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Bago, said the plan is intended to redefine political communication standards on the continent.
According to him, the committee’s responsibilities extend beyond the convention, with a broader objective of strengthening support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Bago urged members of the committee and party-affiliated digital media operators, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, to coordinate efforts in promoting the administration’s policies under its “Renewed Hope” agenda. He also noted increased funding for the committee to expand its outreach beyond national borders.
“The mandate is clear—to project the party and its achievements effectively,” he said, adding that the APC’s growing influence across states reflects its expanding political base.
Co-chairman of the committee and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ben Kalu, described the digital strategy as central to strengthening grassroots engagement.
Kalu called on committee members to maximise the use of digital platforms to communicate the party’s activities and democratic credentials to a wider audience.
He added that the committee’s operations are modeled after advanced digital campaign systems used by major political parties in the United States, with a focus on outreach, mobilisation, and data-driven engagement.
The APC says the initiative is part of a long-term strategy to enhance its communication infrastructure and position itself as a leader in political messaging in Africa.
