Cultists Kill Banker in Edo
A staff member of a new-generation bank in Benin, Edo State, identified as Nosa, was shot dead by suspected cultists on June 20, 2024.
The incident took place in the Government Reservation Area of Benin City, the state capital. Nosa reportedly received a call from an unidentified person inviting him to hang out after work. Unaware of any danger, he agreed to meet at the specified location.
While en route, Nosa’s vehicle was intercepted by his assailants, who blocked his car and opened fire. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident and described it as unfortunate. He stated that the matter is under investigation and assured that further information will be made public as the investigation progresses. “The perpetrators will be brought to book,” Nwabuzor added.
