Court Bars Obaseki From Participating In Edo PDP Gubernatorial Primary Election
A federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state Capital has barred the Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki, from participating in gubernatorial primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the state billed to hold on Thursday.
In an exparte motion granted by Justice E.A Obile, on Monday, Obaseki was barred from participating in the primaries pending the determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction filed by Mr. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama.
Listed as defendants are the National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, Emmanuel Ogidi, Kingsley Chinda, Chief Debekeme Boyleyefa and Senator James Manager.
Others are the PDP, Obaseki, Ajibola Muraina and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
