Coup: Denounce Nigeria Now To Avoid Being Killed, Simon Ekpa Tells Igbos In Niger
Biafra agitator and separatist Simon Ekpa has urged Nigerian immigrants of Igbo extraction in the Republic of Niger to “denounce” Nigeria and declare themselves “Biafrans to avoid being killed.”
Military junta in Niger has severed ties with Nigeria after the efforts of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to reinstate ousted President Mohamed Bazoum failed.
On Friday, the Nigerian embassy in Niamey was set ablaze, barely 24 hours after ECOWAS ordered its standby force to restore constitutional order in Niger.
Reacting, Ekpa on his Twitter handle wrote: “BRGIE @BiafraRGIE BREAKING
We are calling on all Biafrans residing in Niger Republic to immediately denounce Nigeria and start introducing yourselves as Biafrans to avoid being killed.”
