Corruption Allegations: Only Tinubu’s Satisfaction Matters to Me, Not Online Reports — Wike
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed online reports and criticisms directed at him, insisting that only President Bola Tinubu’s assessment of his performance matters.
Speaking on Monday at the flag-off of construction works on Access Roads ILS 02 and ILS 03, also known as Timipre Sylva Street, in Mabushi District, Abuja, Wike said he remains focused on delivering his mandate and will not be distracted by attempts at blackmail.
He described the internet criticisms as baseless and said such attacks were a normal part of political life. “If you like, cry from morning till night, call me whatever name you want, put my name on the internet, say anything you want to say. I am not one of those you think blackmail will change. My skin is so thick, so strong,” he said.
According to Wike, what matters is the satisfaction of the President who appointed him, not public campaigns aimed at discrediting his work. He urged civil servants to distance themselves from groups orchestrating smear efforts, stressing that such moves would not alter his decisions or priorities in office.
