Congregation Alleges Frame-Up as Lagos Pastor Faces Rape Conviction, Awaits Appeal Process

The founder and senior pastor of iReign Christian Ministry, Bishop Oluwafeyiropo Daniels, faced a life sentence for rape in a recent judgment by the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court. The court sentenced Daniels to life imprisonment for the rape of his 23-year-old assistant and an additional three years for sexually assaulting another church member aged 19.

Justice Rahman Oshodi delivered the 324-page judgment, emphasizing the seriousness of the offences and the abuse of Daniels’ dominant character and position as a pastor. The judge ordered that the sentences run concurrently and directed the convict’s name be added to the Lagos State Sex Offender Registry.
