Coalition’s Presidential Ticket Won’t Divide ADC – Dele Momodu

Chief Dele Momodu has assured that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will not be torn apart by internal power struggles over the coalition’s eventual presidential ticket. Speaking on Arise Television’s *Prime Time* on Wednesday, the Ovation magazine publisher expressed confidence that opposition figures who have come together under the ADC platform are united in their mission to unseat President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Momodu praised the formation of the coalition, which includes prominent politicians from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and APC, saying they are prioritizing national interest over individual ambition. He stressed that while members have a general idea of what might unfold regarding the presidential candidacy, they are determined not to let it divide them.

“I believe that, in principle, they know what is likely to happen, and they’ve promised that they will not allow that to divide them. That for me is joyful. I’m excited,” Momodu said when asked if positions had already been shared.

The coalition, spearheaded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, includes high-profile figures such as 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Senate President David Mark, former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, ex-APC National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. Also present at the launch were Rotimi Amaechi, Abubakar Malami, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, Dino Melaye, Elisha Abbo, and several other politicians from across party lines.

Despite the show of unity, Dumebi Kachikwu, the ADC’s 2023 presidential candidate, has opposed the coalition’s takeover of the party, describing the opposition figures as “enemies of Nigeria.” Still, Momodu remains optimistic that the alliance will stay intact and focused on changing the country’s political direction.
