CBN Appoints 16 New Directors to Strengthen Operations

 

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced the appointment of 16 new directors to oversee key departments in a move aimed at strengthening its regulatory, supervisory, and policy-driven operations. The appointments took effect on March 3.

 

Among the new appointees, Jide-Samuel Avbasowamen will lead the Information Technology Department, while Abdullahi Hamisu has been assigned to the Banking Services Department. Ojumu Adenike will oversee the Medical Services Department, and Makinde Olanrewaju will head the Procurement and Support Services Department.

 

In the financial sector, CBN appointed Sike Ijeoma as Director of the Financial Policy and Regulation Department, Isa-Olatinwo Aisha to lead the Consumer Protection Department, and Oboh Victor Ugbem as Director of the Monetary Policy Department.

 

Other appointments include Nakorji Musa as Director of the Trade and Exchange Department, Yusuf Rakiya to head the Payments System Supervision Department, and Vincent Modesola to oversee the Strategy Management and Innovation Department. Farouk Muhammad has been named Director of the Reserve Management Department, while Akinwunmi Olubukola Akinniyi will lead the Banking Supervision Department.

 

Solaja Mohammed-Jamiu will take charge of the Other Financial Institutions’ Supervision Department (OFISD), Hassan Umar will oversee the Development and Finance Institutions Supervision Department, and Adedeji Adetona will lead the Currency Operations and Branch Management Department. Additionally, Okpanachi Moses has been appointed as the Director of the Statistics Department.

 

The CBN stated that the appointments are part of ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency and ensure effective policy implementation across its various departments.
