Buhari shuns South East leaders as trial of Nnamdi Kanu adjourned again till January 2022
The trial of Nnamdi Kanu the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has again been adjourned till January 18, 2022 by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
You would recall that Justice Nyako had on November 10, 2021 originally adjourned the case till 19th and 20th of January 2022.
The court had however granted an abridgement of time, sequel to a motion filed by lawyers of the IPOB leader.
The matter was heard today Thursday 2nd December, 2021.
Kanu was not present in court.
Rumours had been rife that there was the possibility of Kanu being granted bail today following meetings of some Igbo leaders with President Buhari, where they had pleaded that the IPOB leader should be released unconditionally.
The Northern Elders Forum in a swift move had also urged Buhari not to heed to the plea for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.
