Buhari – Perennial surrogate president that Killed Nigeria

While many have hope (rather foolishly I think) that Nigeria will survive, I believe that Nigeria will die first before ressurevting and only a Marshall plan can save her now.

The jury is already out on Buhari’s performance in the last 5 years. And the verdict is as predicted.

Buhari’s government has failed abysmally in almost all areas of government.

Buhari has now ruled Nigeria for longer than former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan did and for that we can truly say that he can now be judged like for like in all sectors.

I sincerely doubt that any honest assessor would find a single area where they could adjudge him to have performed better.

A lawmaker from Buhari’s home state of Katsina, Hon. Mansur has recently joined the ‘band’ of wailers (apologies to Femi Adesina) and has held nothing back speaking truth to power.

But the sad truth is that those of us who moaned and groaned from the early days of this administration have been joined by the same people who spat at us, called us looters and talked us down.

So many others who cowardly rejected our cries for justice and equity have also joined the fray. In fact the wailers are more like sympathisers crying over a dead Nigeria. Yes Nigeria is dead.

While many have hope (rather foolishly I think) that Nigeria will survive, I believe that Nigeria will die first before ressurevting and only a Marshall plan can save her now.

I say rather foolishly because no one can show us the formula for this survival.

The odds are stacked against us even more with this global pandemic.

All they say is that we are a great nation which by the way is a total lie.

A great nation that treats her citizens worse than how other countries treat dangerous animals?

Even if we watered down the meaning of the word greatness, Nigeria would never qualify as a good nation talk less great.

No water, No light, No security, no jobs, no food, no unity, no peace, no prosperity and no empathy etc etc…in fact Nigeria lacks everything that qualifies it to be called a nation talk less of great nation.

All Nigeria needs is a president with a heart. The truth is that we would have even gladly accepted Buhari with a quarter of a heart.

But it was not to be. It will never be, because Buhari has always been a soulless man and he is unlikely to ever change. Too late. The rain no matter how heavy can never wash away the leopards spots.

I remember being admonished by many in the pre 2015 election season when I pointed out how self centred this same General Buhari was.

I had told a story about how Buhari divorced his 1st wife Safinatu after he found out that while he was detained  she had gone to seek the help of the man who detained him, Ibrahim Babangida to fly their sick child abroad for treatment.

Buhari seemed to prefer the option that meant that his wife would rather allow their child to die needlessly than go to IBB for help.

At the time we could have argued that Buhari was a principled man, perhaps too principled even.

But in later years the same Buhari then turned around and visited IBB twice or thrice seeking his blessing for his presidential bid.

Nigeria is DEAD and Buhari killed it.

Let me give you a bird’s eye view of what the current status of governance is in Nigeria today:

1. Nigeria’s president cannot speak to the people who elected him.

2. Nigeria’s president does not answer questions from the press or citizens unscripted even after 5 years as president.

3. Nigeria’s president does not attend events outside those that he can control

4. Nigeria’s president cannot speak without reading from a sheet of paper or carefully prepared speech.

5. Nigeria’s president cannot control ministers or government officials

6. Nigeria’s president cannot even control his household

7. Nigeria’s president cannot name the candidates or elected officials. I bet you that he cannot even name people in his own cabinet

8. Nigerians do not even know if Buhari is aware of happenings

9. Nigerians do not know the current mental or physical state of their president

10. Nigeria’s president is NOT a decision maker and as such not in charge of government.

Buhari has never been in charge of any government he has headed. He has always been a figure head and stooge.

Even in his 40’s he lacked the mental capacity to make tough decisions and stick to them. He lacked critical thinking and had zero Emotional intelligence.

Buhari is so bad that APC spends all their time manufacturing lies to cover his uncountable inconsistencies.

Recall when Buhari was at the brink of death? All the APC members including the vice president (a senior pastor and senior advocate) said Buhari was hale and hearty.

If that does not remove all credibility then nothing will.

Buhari’s presidential ambition was built on trust but delivered by manipulations and electoral fraud.

The people trusted that he would quash corruption and insecurity even if he achieved nothing else.

Not only is corruption in Nigeria worse than it has ever been, insecurity is so bad that even Buhari’s own state Katsina is a beehive of activities for banditry and terrorism.

Buhari is NOT IN CHARGE!

We used to say quite confidently that Abba Kyari was the defacto president of Nigeria.

Now that Kyari is dead, who is the new president?

Your guess is as good as mine.
